Parking Information

Memorial Presbyterian Church (MPC) has two parking lots - one at the corner of Meade and Alton St. (Lot 1) and one at the corner of Meade and John St. (Lot 2).

Lot 1 is a designated permit-only lot for MPC staff and visitors. No LU student or staff parking is permitted without advance permission.

Lot 2 is also a permit-only lot, but in addition to MPC staff and visitors who may park in the lot during worship services or events, we sell permits to LU students and staff for the academic year.

  • Students pay $100/term, staff pays $125/term.
  • Current permit holders have priority for permits for subsequent terms.
  • A wait list opens in June each year.
  • Available permit spaces fluctuate year to year based on how many current permit holders are graduating or transferring, if current permit holders get parking with the university, etc. There are generally between 5-15 openings for new parkers at the start of a Fall term.
  • Notification about an available space will generally happen after the university holds their parking lottery; usually by late August/early September.
  • The rent for the Fall Term shall be due and payable immediately upon issuance of a parking permit. Subsequent rental fees shall be due the Friday immediately preceding the first day of the Term. If the Student fails to pay by the due date, their permit shall be revoked and the parking stall shall be re-rented.

The 2023-2024 wait list is closed. The wait list for 2024-2025 will open on June 3, 2024. You will find a link to the wait list on this page. If a space becomes available, you will be notified via email and sent a contract to fill out, sign and return. You must return the completed contract by the date given in the email. Failure to return the completed contract on time or pay the rent by the designated deadline will result in your permit being revoked and the space will be given to the next person on the wait list.

Note: MPC reserves the right to deny a permit to anyone who has violated stated parking rules.
